The Traditional Insurance Model is driven by profit, which leads clients to spend more money on suboptimal care.
Revitalize Athletics believes this system is broken. We believe that everyone deserves the freedom to control their care, and we offer superior treatment that maximizes outcomes at the lowest possible cost.

Treatment Determined by Profit
Rather than paying for treatment directly, clients typically pay their health insurance company to receive physical therapy. In turn, the insurance company pays Physical Therapists (PTs) for treatments provided through a process known as “reimbursement”. In this model, certain types of treatment may be reimbursed higher (ie. exercise), while some are reimbursed lower (ie. manual therapy). This encourages PTs to administer the treatments that pay the most, rather than prioritizing the client's needs and goals.

Unknown Upfront Costs
Did you know? 57% of Americans have received a surprise healthcare bill from their insurance provider (for services that they expected to be covered). Healthcare is the only market where you don’t know how much something costs until after you buy it. These unknown costs are manufactured by the traditional insurance model, causing unnecessary financial stress and clients' inability to determine their own treatment.

6-20 Visits Allowed by Insurance Per Year
Each insurance plan includes a visit limit; some enforce a "hard maximum", denying their customers coverage after reaching the treatment limit— regardless of medical necessity. Other insurance companies allow a "soft maximum", which requires following lengthy processes to approve additional visits. In either case, these limits often lead to delayed or discontinued care; just as clients are beginning to see measurable results with their Physical Therapist. As a result, clients will often fail to meet their treatment goals.
30-45 Minute Visits
Reimbursement rates for Physical Therapy services are declining, and insurance companies are paying clinics less and less per visit. In response, clinics have imposed shorter visits to make up for the loss of revenue— at the expense of truly beneficial rehabilitation. As expected, this often results in additional visits with worse overall outcomes.
2-3 Patients Seen Per Hour Using PT Aides
Another way clinics combat declining revenue is by seeing more patients per hour with Physical Therapy Aides. This typically results in 15-20 min of face time with your actual Physical Therapist before being handed off to an aide. It can also result in the use of "filler" tasks, such as spending 10 minutes “warming up" on an exercise bike or icing at the end of a session. This reduction in individualized treatment time with a Doctor of Physical Therapy results in less productive, lower quality care.
High Re-injury Rate
Insurance Companies have created a structure that pressures clinicians into delivering suboptimal care, passing the consequences to consumers. Physical Therapists will often discharge patients prematurely, without solving the root cause of the problem. Ultimately, this leads to high re-injury rates and repeated visits to address the same issue.
Treatment Determined by Clients' Needs/Goals
Unlike traditional Physical Therapy care, we will never use reimbursement rates and profit margins to determine treatment. Instead, we charge a flat rate per visit, regardless of the treatment provided. This allows us to deliver evidence-based treatments tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.
Transparent Pricing Structure
At Revitalize Athletics, we are entirely transparent about our pricing. We charge the same amount per visit and never subject our clients to "surprise bills". This allows our clients to budget for their care in confidence. Additionally, we are always happy to provide support in submitting self-claims to insurance for reimbursement.
Unlimited Visits
Since we are not restricted by insurance visit limits, our clients never have to risk being "cut off" just as they start to make measurable progress with us. We have the freedom to collaborate with our clients, which allows us to fully satisfy their functional and financial goals.
1 + Hour Visits
1-on-1 Care with a Doctor
We do not employ Physical Therapy Aides or Assistants, so our clients can be assured they are getting the full, undivided attention from their Doctor each and every visit. We also prioritize spending the ENTIRE session providing skilled care that is geared towards helping our clients achieve their goals, rather than utilizing unskilled tasks to fill the session time.
Optimize Movement to Avoid Re-injury
The human movement system is a complex, interconnected network known as the "Kinetic Chain". To truly rehabilitate an injury, remove pain, and prevent re-injury, every component of the Kinetic Chain must be addressed. Free from the constraints of the traditional insurance model, our approach allows clients to optimize movement and live life to the fullest!
How much does quality treatment cost?
At Revitalize Athletics, we are firmly committed to quality and transparency. We offer each of our clients comprehensive and individualized care with a straightforward, fixed-rate pricing structure.
