Insurance

In short, we do not accept insurance. Our treatment philosophy is completely subservient to our client’s individual needs. It aims to provide the most effective treatment to get our clients’ back to 100% as quickly and efficiently as possible. We therefore refuse to allow insurance companies to dictate the quality of care we can provide to our clients.

Have you ever received physical therapy at a clinic where you only saw the Physical Therapist for 20 min before being handed off to an Aide or Assistant? Have you ever had a Physical Therapist split their time between you and 1-2 other clients simultaneously, resulting in you feeling like you have to “compete” for great care? Have you ever spent just as much time on an ice machine and/or exercise bike as you did with your Physical Therapist? Have you ever been “cut off” from physical therapy because your covered visits ran out? Finally, have you ever received a surprise bill weeks or months after treatment because it turns out the services provided to you weren’t covered after all?

These are just a few of the common frustrations our clients’ report experiencing with in-network providers. We at Revitalize Athletics think this system is broken and results in a disservice to the individuals that need quality care. We place immense value on transparency. At Revitalize Athletics, you know exactly the quality of service you will receive and exactly how much it will cost before each visit. Every time.

Although we do not accept insurance, we would be happy to provide you with all the necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note, to be reimbursed by your insurance company, your plan must include “out-of-network physical therapy” benefits. If it does, you should be able to print claim forms off of your insurance company’s website and submit it with all the necessary receipts and treatment codes, which will be provided to you by a member of our team upon request. The amount you will be reimbursed depends entirely on your individual plan, so it is recommended you call your insurance company prior to scheduling with Revitalize Athletics if you plan to submit for reimbursement.

No. However, depending on your insurance plan, you may be required to have a referral for physical therapy if you plan to submit self-claims for reimbursement. We recommend you call your insurance to ask if a referral is required if you plan to submit for reimbursement.

Visit Logistics

Our physical therapy sessions will require a private, quiet place large enough to set up a portable massage table. Depending on the body region you are seeking treatment for, loose fitting clothing that allows the region to be easily accessible is recommended. (ie. tank top is recommended for upper extremity injuries, shorts are recommended for lower extremity injuries).

Each initial evaluation is typically 1 to 1.5 hours in length. During your initial evaluation we will discuss at length your reasons for seeking physical therapy, including details about your pain, injury, and goals. We will then perform a detailed global movement assessment and local exam to assess not only the source of your pain, but the CAUSE of your pain and how we can address it correctly the first time! Finally, we will dive into treatment, which can include manual therapy, dry needling, exercise, etc. By the end of your initial evaluation you will have a clear idea of what is causing your pain or dysfunction AND how we are going to fix it with an individualized treatment plan that focuses on your unique goals, needs, and aspirations.

Each follow up visit is typically 1 hour in length. You will be working one on one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for the entire visit. Each visit typically includes a manual therapy and exercise portion geared towards your specific goals, sports, and activities. Interventions utilized during your follow up visits will depend on the specific goal(s) of each individual session.

Yes. Your Doctor of Physical Therapy will work with you on how often you should be seen. We take into consideration your injury, the tissues involved in your pain, the results of your movement assessment, your goals, and your availability. We will collaborate with you to develop a treatment plan that works for you.

Treatment Details

In general, the quicker you receive treatment following an injury, the quicker the issue will be resolved. When you sustain an injury, your movement system adapts to keep you functioning in the ways that are necessary to go about life’s activities. This might mean you adapt your movement to avoid pain (ie. limping to avoid putting weight through a painful ankle), to make up for weakness (ie. overusing muscles to “make up for” weakness elsewhere), or to make up for lack of mobility (ie. putting stress on your low back because your hips are stiff). These adaptations to movement will begin to cause long-term dysfunction if not addressed early.

Our goal at Revitalize Athletics is to keep you active, healthy, and living the life you love! We want all of our clients to be able to participate in the beauty of the outdoors DESPITE pain, injury, and/or movement dysfunction. That being said, depending on the injury, sometimes modification of activity is necessary to allow the injured region to rest and heal. Most of the time, this does not mean completely stopping your activities, but it may mean changing how you participate in your activities for a brief period until the root cause of your problem is addressed.

At Revitalize Athletics, we believe in not only resolving the injury/pain you are seeing us for, but also in treating dysfunction found throughout the entire movement system to prevent future injury. All too often, traditional physical therapy services focus on addressing the clients’ pain and/or injury directly. They focus on treating the SOURCE. Maybe they briefly address dysfunction in the immediately adjacent body regions or joints, but that is where treatment ends. What happens then? You, the client, feel fantastic for a month, a couple months, or if you’re lucky, a year. Then what? You may re-aggravate your old injury or sustain a different injury all together. Why? Because the physical therapy services you were receiving focused solely on the SOURCE of the pain, not getting down to the CAUSE of the pain. We do things differently. We treat the movement system as a whole, because we understand the movement system is composed of interlinking components from the top of the head, to the tips of the toes. Body regions do not function in a vacuum, but rather, function in a synchrony with all other regions up and down the movement chain. We’re in the business of optimizing movement to keep you healthy for the long term!

Dry needling is a technique that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate a muscle and its associated trigger points for the purpose of decreasing muscular tension, improving range of motion, reducing pain, and/or facilitating optimal muscular performance.
